The Community Conservation Committee (C3) is a team of members from conservation organizations and community advocates in Lancaster and York County who support and promote community conservation.

We coordinate or support regional events, lectures, and presentations that engage with municipal staff, elected officials, and new constituents to build awareness about conservation concerns, sharing relevant resources, and actions that can be taken (use native plants in your landscape and community, protect wild and natural landscapes, support watershed restoration, etc.) to enhance our community.

Community Conservation Committee consists of:  Wendy Brister (Cavano’s Perennials), Steve Sahd (Community Advocate), and Lydia Martin (Community Advocate).

In Memoriam of Greg Wilson – Community Advocate & Donegal Trout Unlimited

Inspired by Doug Tallamy’s work, the late Greg Wilson was an award winning environmentalist and one of the four original founding members of Community Conservation Committee. With his infectious smile, easy going nature and steadfast commitment to conservation, Greg was the heart-beat of our C3 team. A passionate outdoorsman with a lifelong devotion to the preservation of native habitat, Greg led a decades long conservation effort to improve Lancaster County streams while serving with Donegal Trout Unlimited in addition to his enthusiastic commitment to native plants. The pain of his passing in January 2022 reverberated throughout the conservation community and will continue to be felt by our C3 team and all who knew him. Greg left a lasting impression on everyone he met and he was a big part of why we started Community Conservation Committee. It is our sincere hope that we will be able to honor his legacy through C3’s educational initiatives in the years ahead. Learn more about Greg’s legacy at Stroud Water Research Center. LNP News Outdoors featured Greg in its January 23rd Outdoors Column, “Much more than a fishing club, Donegal Trout Unlimited wins best chapter award”.
